Adventure Play Pods

Play. Move. Explore.

From first colours to bigger adventures

The platform is being developed for children aged 3 and up. Age, interests and skills help shape a suitable task, and each adventure has its own requirements.

What does 3+ mean?

Adventure Play Pods is being developed for children aged 3 and up, with play concepts for older children too. The right level depends on the particular game, as well as the platform's overall intended age range.

Recognising one colour and answering a question about oxygen transport in the body require different skills. The theme, instruction length, pace and number of possible answers should suit the child.

3+ describes the platform's development direction. The age rating and instructions for a particular set are determined by that product version's documentation. This page does not replace the hardware instructions.

How can tasks change as children grow?

These are examples to guide content development, rather than four finished catalogue levels. Ages are approximate; watch how a child understands and responds to a task.

Ages 3–4

Colour and a simple choice

One short instruction, a small number of options and an unhurried pace. For example: find the named colour. An adult demonstrates the rule and stays involved.

Ages 5–6

Order and counting

Simple sequences, shapes and short stories. For example: repeat two signals in order, then try three if the earlier task is understood.

Ages 7–9

Knowledge within an adventure

Themed missions can connect nature, geography or maths with physically choosing an answer. An explanation leads to a task, and the child's action communicates a choice.

Ages 10–12+

More involved challenges

Longer sequences, harder questions and shared tasks. Rules and content can add complexity without simply making everything faster.

The adult's role

Preparing the space, explaining the rules and staying present are part of the intended use for younger children. Making an independent choice does not mean playing without supervision.

  1. Show one attempt. Let the child see how an instruction connects with a response.
  2. Leave time to decide. Understanding the rule matters more than speed at the start.
  3. Change one thing. Add a target, extend a sequence or introduce a new theme. This makes it easier to tell what changed the difficulty.
  4. Pause or simplify when needed. Match the activity to the participants' interest, space and abilities.

What does “grows with your child” mean?

It means exploring new content and rules with the same PODs. A younger child might discover simple relationships, while an older child tackles themed tasks using a compatible pack.

This is the platform's development direction. Compatibility between future content and hardware will be specified for individual releases. Explore the worlds in development, or start with simple movement games at home that an adult can lead today.
