How to read this guide
Adventure Play Pods games are being developed and tested. This page describes the work taking shape across the platform, rather than a catalogue of packs ready to buy.
“In development” identifies a theme or feature being worked on. Ask the project's creator which elements can currently be demonstrated. Age guidance, POD count, narration language and pack contents will depend on the individual release.
Short games with PODs
Short play activities are being developed around sequences, matching, hits, numbers and responses to a signal. They give the devices a role outside a longer story.
Sequences and matching
Remembering a pattern and recognising a matching signal are examples of tasks being explored for short games. Exact rules depend on the mode.
Hits and reactions
A POD becomes the target of a physical action. Development includes responding to signals and score-based challenges, with rules specific to each game version.
The detailed list of working functions and their ability to run without the app need to be confirmed for the current hardware version. Mention the kind of activity you are interested in when arranging a demonstration.
Adventures: stories you respond to
An Adventure is a themed pack that brings together narration, music, effects, light signals and task rules. A child might choose an answer, repeat a sequence or perform an action connected to a mission. Illustrated materials give the POD locations meaning.
The examples below describe themes in development. They do not mean that every interaction described has already been implemented.
Maths
Numbers, shapes and answers selected through PODs. One example being explored is recognising a named shape and reaching its target.
Space
The Solar System, the Moon, Mars and exploration. Tasks can connect recognising objects with the stages of a journey.
Ocean Adventure
Reefs, sharks, whale migration and the deep sea. Missions in development put movement in the context of discovering and protecting the ocean.
Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs and periods in the history of life. A theme for exploring through choices and tasks on a journey into the past.
World map
Continents, cities, landmarks and animals. PODs can represent places that children select in response to a task.
The human body
Skin, bones, oxygen transport and cells. A version in development includes supplementary tablet illustrations, with PODs remaining the physical controllers.
Books: stories at a gentler pace
Books is a separate feature in development, intended to accompany reading or narrated stories with music, effects and POD lighting. It explores using the same hardware for a quieter activity.
Books is not currently presented as a ready-to-use audiobook library. Its content and availability will need a separate announcement.

- Its development stage and what can currently be demonstrated.
- Recommended age and the skills needed for the tasks.
- POD count and version, plus the mat or other materials.
